Absentee Ballots will be available from the County Auditor’s Office beginning September 22, 2017.

An absentee ballot is a vote cast by someone who is unable or unwilling to attend the official polling place to which the voter is normally allocated on Election Day.  Any eligible voter may apply for an absentee ballot by mail, email, or fax and vote during the 46 days before the election in the office of the County Auditor in person or by mail.  If an applicant is not registered to vote, they will register as part of the absentee voting process. (M.S. 203B.02; 203B.04, subd.1; 203B.04, subd. 4). 

The County Auditor’s Office regular business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Monday through Friday.  In addition, the County Auditor’s Office will be open during the following additional hours for the exclusive purpose of accepting absentee applications and the casting of absentee ballots (M.S. 203B.085):

Saturday, November 4, 2017 – 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Monday, November 6, 2017 – 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
